Transistor:Burthen is a piece written by myself, Matt Barber and Paul Coleman.  It was premiered in Rochester on Dec. 2, 2005 at the Eastman School of Music Composer’s Forum.

Singles

VT 1 and QU 1 are part of an ongoing project where an entire piece is constructed by processing, layering, and sequencing one single sound file. A short seven-second voice sample was used as the source for VT 1, and a short sample of a quena was used for QU 1.  You can find program notes for both pieces here.
